First All-Nighter of Third Year; Guess I'm Doomed
I almost made it out of September without doing this. Oh well. I have a linguistics presentation tomorrow which I’m making now. The presentation is after 3 hours of rhetoric. I’m gonna sleep so well tomorrow. Oh, baby.

Jack Layton Things
Just bumped into my friend Peter. He said 3 months ago he was strolling through downtown TO with his friend. They were sort of drunk around 3AM and they bumped into Jack Layton’s house.
They knocked on his door (unaware that he was so ill) and he came out and spoke with them. He offered them each a drink and they sat outside and had a drink with Jack Layton at 3AM.

The morning mist on the lake...

"Division Line"
You criticize literature, right? You analyze it’s progression by looking for answers in between the levels of growth. But when the progression regards a character’s normal life, you can’t help but make connections in yours or other people’s lives. Then the line that divides reality and fiction is blurred, but you ask yourself, was there ever a line to begin with?

Thoughts on Art/Mystery
A sad thing about knowledge is that you destroy art in a way. You corrupt it. You feel bad for offending its beauty but you can’t help it. Part of its essential beauty lies in its mystery. You want to love it, and to do so is to grasp it truthfully, to know its every aspect, to fully comprehend it, but to do this you take with you a part of it. Forever more it will be incomplete to you.

McCarthy Thoughts II
McCarthy makes his characters strong by using limited and assertive dialogue. They say only what must be said and that displays direction, ambition and control. In order to follow this style the reader must first accept the style, but more importantly how the style affects the story as a whole; how the characters drive the plot, but also how the plot drives the characters. This all occurs through...
